I’m Certifiable!

Gotcha! I am getting certified to teach Art4Healing workshops and I need help. I am attempting to raise the tuition on my own here.

My name is Gwyn and I am an artist. I have been interested in the creative arts as a healing tool for many years. I know it helps me in many ways to create, and I would love nothing more than to have a better understanding of the process and help others heal through the arts.
For various reasons, mainly financial, I have not pursued this dream, yet is always in the back of my mind. We are at a critical time in our history, with both the planet and our way of life at great risk, and people need hope and healing more than ever. Not to mention the up-rise in physical and mental illness, and disorders we are seeing. The earth and its inhabitants are in pain, and I believe art can help.

On December 28th 2011 I was officially diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. This is a stage IV cancer that is also present in my spine. I have had an unusual (so I am told) response to this news. I feel very optimistic about treatment, but also greatly motivated to turn this into a positive experience through my work. It is as if I have been given a get out of (self-imposed) jail card, and permission to be brilliant. However, I cannot do this alone!

I am blessed with a huge amount of support in my personal life, and my online community. It is time to call in the favors and get the training I need to manifest my dream, while I navigate life with cancer. In July of 2012 I plan to take the 7 day intensive Art4Healing® Certificate Program at Brandman University in Laguna Niguel, CA. I am raising funds here to cover tuition supplies only. Anything beyond the goal will go towards travel expenses.

I also intend to write a book documenting my experience with cancer and art making through the year, and all contributors will be gifted with some memento of the process. In the meantime you can follow me at ArtHopeTruth.com for regular updates on my health and art work.

From the Heart,
